Course Descriptions

Blended Learning

Blended Learning offers a convenient and flexible way to complete CPR and first aid training. Students first take the online portion at their own pace, anytime and anywhere with internet access. Later, they attend a short in-person session to practice and test hands-on skills with an instructor.

This method saves time in the classroom while still ensuring quality training. It is ideal for busy professionals and organizations with diverse staff and varying schedules. All course content follows AHA’s trusted guidelines, making sure every student learns the lifesaving skills they need.

Skills Sessions

All certification courses include a required hands-on skills session to ensure participants can confidently apply what they’ve learned. Students engage in simulated clinical scenarios and interactive learning stations, guided by an AHA-certified instructor. To successfully complete the session, participants must demonstrate core lifesaving skills and pass a written knowledge assessment. These sessions reinforce essential techniques like CPR, AED use, and first aid through real-time feedback and active participation.

Healthcare Professional Course: BLS (Basic Life Support)

Designed for healthcare providers, this course delivers essential training in Basic Life Support to satisfy professional and regulatory standards. Participants learn to recognize life-threatening emergencies, administer high-quality chest compressions, provide effective ventilations, and to use an AED properly. The course emphasizes both individual and team-based resuscitation techniques in prehospital and in-facility settings, with a strong focus on High-Quality CPR and teamwork. Successful participants receive a BLS certification card valid for two years.

Heartsaver Courses

Heartsaver programs are designed for individuals with little or no medical training who need certification for job requirements, OSHA compliance, or general preparedness. These video-based, instructor-led courses focus on hands-on emergency response skills that apply to everyday settings. All certifications are valid for two years.

CPR/AED – Adult, Child, and Infant

Ideal for those outside the healthcare field, this course covers CPR and AED use across all age groups—adults, children, and infants. It also includes how to respond to choking in each age group.
Using the AHA’s proven practice-while-watching method, instructors guide students in identifying cardiac arrest, activating emergency response systems, and delivering CPR until advanced help arrives. Naloxone awareness and adult choking response are also covered.

Pediatric First Aid & CPR/AED

Tailored for childcare workers and others who care for children, this course meets pediatric emergency training standards across all fifty states. Students learn how to recognize and manage childhood medical issues and injuries—ranging from CPR and AED for infants and children to basic first aid for common pediatric emergencies. Delivered in a supportive classroom setting, the course combines video instruction with instructor-led practice to ensure readiness when caring for young lives.

First Aid

This course equips learners with essential first aid skills for addressing common medical and injury-related emergencies, including heart attacks, strokes, severe choking, bleeding, fractures, and environmental incidents like bites or stings. This certification is especially useful for workers in OSHA-regulated industries and emphasizes the role and responsibilities of the first aid provider. Instruction blends video content with hands-on practice to build confidence and preparedness.

Family & Friends CPR (Non-Certified Course)

Geared toward individuals who want to be prepared—not certified—this course is ideal for parents, grandparents, babysitters, and community members. It teaches key lifesaving techniques such as adult Compressions-Only CPR, CPR with breaths for adults and children, AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve airway obstructions at every age level. The course uses the AHA’s engaging practice-while-watching approach to maximize hands-on experience in a supportive group environment, without the pressure of testing or certification.
